Visual Vocabulary: Proximity

The principle for this sketch represents “Proximity.” Proximity is when components are placed close together to make one single image. For instance, even though the multiple objects separated for each other, they are still considered as “one group.” To make this principle possible, I made a lot of small snakes to create the form of a skull with cross-bones. I intended to do this to give the viewer a image in the viewer’s head that even a small animals can be represented as something else. For the shape, I wanted each of the snakes to look as if they were slithering around and show that they made the form of a skull.
